June

It is amazing how much progress the students have made this year!  Many came in not knowing the alphabet and now they are confident readers.  They have worked so hard and had a lot of fun along the way.  Here are some important tips for summer learning fun.  Firstly, make sure they spend plenty of time outside playing.  Have them count while they jump rope or have a sight word treasure hunt in the yard.  They can build a tent with chairs and a blanket, make a fake campfire, and read stories to the family.  When it is too hot outdoors, let them create their own restaurant inside.  They can write out a simple menu and read it to you.  Have them explain what they are making to build vocabulary skills.  When it is time to pay the check, practice counting items, adding, and subtracting.  Your child will have so much fun and continue reinforcing skills at the same time!

Don't forget to check our group emails for important information.

*Our class lines up at the elevator glass door at the back of the school at 8:30.  On half days, pick up time is 12:55.  On full days, pick up time is 2:40.  If someone special is picking up your child, please send me a note or email as soon as possible.

We have gym on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Please make sure that your child wears sneakers on those days.  Computer class is Wednesdays and Art is on Thursdays. We have Music on Fridays.

Homework-

Monday1/2 Day Dismissal is 12:55.

Tuesday- 1/2 Day Dismissal is 12:55.  Our End of Year Celebration. Wednesday- 1/2 Day Dismissal is 12:55.

Thursday- 1/2 Day Dismissal is 12:55.

Friday-  1/2 Day Dismissal is 12:55.  Last day of school!

Please make sure that your child continues to read over the summer!  Many children drop 1 to 2 reading levels if they do not continue to practice.  Strong reading skills will give them many of the tools they will need to be successful all through their lives.  Also, if you pick the right book, it's a lot of fun!  Have a great summer!
